What about adding a 'service directory' to the site so that anyone living in or near the village, who is self-employed, can make their services known to the rest of us?

Also, how about another section in which users can list any tradesmen or the like whose services they wish to commend to others?

I'll take a look into it.  I'm not sure how popular it will be considering the lack of interest in the Classifieds section but I don't mind checking it out.

A lot of the business listing systems require you to purchase a licence so that's out of the window but it might be possible to develop a system on a CMS.  I'll take a look and see if Typo3 can support this as we already have this in a stable state on the site.  If not I'll take a look at some of the other systems like Joomla.

Bear with me and I'll get back to you.

Okay the business listings are now live on the forums.

You should see a new category for the business listings.  People can't post to the board they have to use a form so all the listings will be in a fixed format.

I did start looking at a new system entirely as this isn't the most elegant solution but at the moment it will require several man days of work to get a new CMS system up and working to my liking.  It's already installed and working to a point, I might persist when time allows but that's a lot of coding I don't have time to complete at the moment.

As always feedback is appreciated, if you see any problems let me know.  I guessed at the fields required for the form so I might have missed something obvious.

p.s sorry about the accuracy of the postcodes on the map, Royal Mail wont let Google be precise with postcodes.  There is a work around but I need to do some AJAX coding to fix it (watch this space)
